Reaching out for a box of dry spaghetti and bottled pasta sauce is what college kids do. Not here, not us.

Food is always a solace where we’re living abroad and far from everything familiar to us. So our love for fresh and artisanal pasta grew exponentially and we became greedy to learn more. In the home kitchens of our hosts, we whipped up dinners for pasta nights and fed our roommates during those 4am assignment deadlines.

In memory of those tough nights and of course, our love for carbs, Tipo Pasta Bar is about the celebration of artisanal produce. Where pasta are handcrafted and reimagined to be something more than just out of a packaged box.

Our popular pasta concept hits the street with Tipo Strada. We’ve added artisanal coffee and a pocketful of snack options, to the familiar fresh homemade pasta that you’ve come to know and love. Now that’s extra motivation to ditch that box of dry pasta in your pantry.

While fresh and customisable pasta was fine and dandy with Pasta Bar and Strada, a similar notion for pizzas was constantly cooking at the back of our minds.

We made sure to tick all the right boxes with the location, decor and concept; topped off with a beast of an oven delivered directly from Italy before embarking on Tipo Pizzeria e Trattoria.

Not settling on just pies, we wanted a wholesome dining experience at Stamford Arts Centre with fresh pasta, delectable mains and crafted coolers suited for many an occasion.

Tipo began in 2018 at a humble Kampong Glam shophouse with the celebration of creation in mind — handcrafted pasta with unconventional shapes, infused flavours, and colours.

Slurp, savour, and rotate your fresh favourites from the original Tipo Pasta Bar, with ever changing menu specials to boot. Save room for dessert and drinks with homemade pastries and bev. Now, that’s extra motivation to ditch that supermarket pasta in your pantry.
